Di fronte, EarthQuaker Devices ha aggiunto una fuzz a modulazione di larghezza d'impulso pilotata da inviluppo, pensata per passare dalla massa alla rottura con un colpo di plettro.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003ePer chi? Dai riff post-punk ai muri di fuzz noise\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eLa Gary si rivolge a chitarristi (e bassisti) che vogliono un \u003cstrong\u003epedale fuzz\/overdrive\u003c\/strong\u003e espressivo, vivo e capace di uscire dagli schemi. Eccelle nel post-punk, noise rock, grunge, stoner, garage, rock alternativo, ma si rivela anche formidabile per creare bed di texture in studio. Su un pedalboard, è un'arma di carattere: puoi usarla come \u003cstrong\u003eboost\/overdrive \"always-on\"\u003c\/strong\u003e per spingere l'ampli, oppure attivare la fuzz per far passare un verso al ritornello con un effetto \"ampli che crolla e poi ritorna\".\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eControlli e funzionamento: semplice in facciata, immenso nelle sfumature\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eLa Gary è volutamente minimalista nei controlli, ma ogni comando è ultra musicale. Sulla fuzz, \u003cstrong\u003e\"Yes!\"\u003c\/strong\u003e regola la sensibilità dell'inviluppo (e quindi l'interazione attacco\/larghezza d'impulso) mentre \u003cstrong\u003e\"Oosh\"\u003c\/strong\u003e gestisce il volume di uscita, con abbastanza headroom per sovralimentare lo stadio successivo. Sull'overdrive, \u003cstrong\u003e\"Go\"\u003c\/strong\u003e regola il gain (dal clean boost a una distorsione op-amp più spessa) e \u003cstrong\u003e\"That's It\"\u003c\/strong\u003e fissa il volume. Ogni lato dispone del proprio footswitch, con commutazione Flexi-Switch silenziosa (pressione breve = on\/off, pressione prolungata = momentary). Da notare: il percorso del segnale è progettato per impilare le due sezioni con una logica \u003cstrong\u003efuzz verso overdrive\u003c\/strong\u003e, per avvolgere e \"ricollare\" la fuzz nel mix quando attivi la parte sinistra.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eLa sonorità\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eDal lato fuzz, si tratta di un'\u003cstrong\u003eonda quadra\u003c\/strong\u003e spessa, densa, con sustain generoso, che può diventare molto \"gated\" e spegnersi netto appena smetti di suonare le corde. Aumentando \"Yes!\", il pedale inizia a respirare con la tua mano destra: più attacchi, più il timbro si stringe e morde, con una grana nasale, tratti tranciati e instabilità molto musicali. Dal lato overdrive, la risposta è più naturale e organica: dinamica, piena, con quel carattere op-amp deciso che può servire come boost pulito, crunch nervoso o saturazione più ampia per sostenere un riff.
